Mineral Resources Engineering Department

The Mineral Resources Engineering Department responding to the need to adapt to the modern conceptions of science and technology, places particular emphasis on the development of cognitive subjects that have not been included or developed in the curriculum of other universities in the country. This is achieved by carefully configuring its study programme and directing accordingly the research activities of its staff.

More particularly, the Department offers basic engineering training as well as education in new technologies such as automatic collection and processing of data, detection of mineral concentrations, observation of geodynamic phenomena through satellites, geophysical techniques of high resolution for archaeology, geodynamics, structural works and environmental applications, evaluation of raw materials by means of electronic microscopy etc. In this way, the graduates of the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering, who upon completion of their studies obtain the title of Mineral Resources Engineer, have acquired the knowledge that will allow them to meet the needs of national economy and face the challenge of international competition. The professional rights of our graduates are secured by the Presidential Decree no 71/95 published in the Official Gazette no 49/7-3-95 volume A.
